Schlapp is, however, maintained her focus on her job. But she drew a burst of media attention when she was mentioned as a possible replacement for Hope Hicks as communications director. It hasn't been an easy fight. The ally of Schlapp's, Tony Sayegh, and an opponent with the same name, Tony, began fighting in the news. Following The Washington Examiner published a negative story about Sayegh, Schlapp claimed she phoned the candidate to be heart to heart.
